Your details.
Handled with care.

This notice covers kit availability checks, kit notification requests and the Solderlings pilot interest list. Solderlings is a project run by Dominik Stodolny in Guildford, Surrey, UK. You can contact the person responsible for your information at hello@solderlings.com.

What we collect

When you check a kit’s availability, we record the kit, its planned price and the time of that action. This record contains no email address or raw IP address. If you ask for an availability email, we separately store your email address, selected kit and consent. If you join the family pilot list, we also collect optional broad age band and home-kit/workshop preferences. The form is for adults. Please do not send a child’s name or other identifying details.

What we use it for

We use availability-check counts to understand interest in each kit at its planned price. With your consent, we use notification requests to email about the availability of your selected kit. This does not sign you up for the separate pilot list or updates about other kits. Pilot-list consent covers the family pilot and Solderlings launch. We record when you signed up and the consent notice you agreed to. Joining the list does not create an order or payment.

Where it is stored

Our site and interest list use Cloudflare Workers and D1. Cloudflare processes information on our behalf and may process it outside the UK. The database was created with a Western Europe location hint; this is not a guarantee that all processing stays in that region. Cloudflare also processes normal request information to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Availability-check records, kit notification requests and pilot-list entries are automatically deleted after 180 days. We do not sell your details. This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. To remember the unavailable result you requested, we store the kit’s status, check time and price version in your browser. This result is valid for 24 hours; expired results are removed on your next visit. We do not store your email address or a visitor identifier there. If browser storage is blocked, the forms still work.

Changing your mind

You can withdraw consent, ask for a copy of your information, correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing hello@solderlings.com. Any pilot or launch email we send will explain how to unsubscribe. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Keeping the form usable

To limit automated submissions, we store a temporary daily hash derived from your IP address. The hash uses a private key, is separate for each type of request, is not linked to your email or kit-interest record, and expires after an hour. Expired hashes are cleared daily. We do not store raw IP addresses in our interest database.
